Various pictures
from my world trip to NZ, OZ, and Asia... finishing in South East Asia.
Singapore was the first stop .. then Malaysia..

As I arrive
in Singapore, a down 'n' out Northern backpacker appears from the crowds waving
a placard bearing my name. Unsurprisingly, it is Ryan from my Oz East Coast
trip who gave up the chance for a hedonistic six-day-all-you-can-drive road
trip from Cairns to Sydney in favour of a big rock in the middle of the outback.
Shocker.

Our delightful
Hotel. Rather aptly named since the place was kinda grotty in that 'I really
wanna cough my lungs up to get rid of this cold I've caught in this hostel' type
of way. Gettit?

Petronas Towers
in Kuala Lumpar. I would've included further photos of Singapore, but...
well... Ryan's got them all and the poor lad can't afford the developing.
Few more months down t'pit and perhaps he'll have scraped together a few farthings
so I can finally see the Raffles Hotel Singapore Sling pictures, and potentially
the most pleasant barman in the world... 'our Jason'

Meditating at
the Buddhist temple in Penang. Was kinda commercialised though which just
didn't seem right.

Melaka (Freedom)
Square in KL. This pic was taken shortly after some locals assumed Ryan and
I were some kinda of superstar footy legends. Fair play, it was Ry they pretended
to adore in a Beckham-esque way, but I knew they were just too awestruck to
admit their preference for yours truly! Joking aside, this was probably the
wierdest moment of my trip - about 3-4 Malays came over to us in the Square,
smiling, shaking hands, wanting photos. Very bizarre.

..Swimming in
the Seven Falls Waterfall, Langkawi. Believe it or not, through that tiny
gap in the fence in a whopping vertical drop aka a big waterfall.

..Sunset on Langkawi.
A quiet moment to reflect, relax, and to escape from our ever-present shadow
- Swedish Veronica - who quite frankly shattered every one of my beautiful
preconceptions of swedish females. And the worse thing was we kept bumping
into her throughout Thailand, which meant having the same, awkward, mumbled
conversations time and time again. Absolute nightmare.

..Hired a motorbike
on Langkawi, found a waterfall, went swimming in helmet. Fun.
